Background and History

Founder, Victoria Clark, started her therapeutic practices in 2003 when she gained her Diploma in Holistic Therapy. She soon established a natural therapy clinic in Darlington, where she worked with NHS referrals and private clients. Establishing a professional team of holistic therapists who worked within mental health hospitals and day services.

Passionate about helping those most in need she went on to gain a certificate in Complementary Therapies for Special Needs.

As well as the range of hands on treatments that came with her holistic therapy training Victoria went on to train in Reiki and subtle ways to work with clients who could not have physical treatment. Keen to develop her understanding of healthy mind, body and spirit further she began a life long journey of discovery, learning from indigenous cultures and ancient wisdom principles across the globe, establishing what the commonalities that connect all of these thriving cultures are.

Having a universal approach to spirituality and a deep love of the natural world took her down a path of studying nature connection principles, including shamanism which she studied with Stephen Mulhearn at Lendrick Lodge in Scotland and renowned shaman and psychotherapist Sandra Ingerman in New Mexico. She also had the great honour of taking part in ceremony and learning from respected medicine people and elders from tribes in North America and Peru. She graduated from several years of shamanic training in Scotland in 2008. She continues to deepen her understanding of these ancient wisdom principles and bridges this into modern western culture by exploring the intersection with modern science and psychotherapeutic approaches.

This wealth of knowledge and intuitive practices added a greater depth to the services offered, which included seasonal gatherings and workshops for personal and spiritual development.

In 2016 she gained a Permaculture Design Certificate, supporting her vision of nature connection for health and wellness for communities and the natural environment combined with the practical and educational elements of ethical design. This is something that informs all of her projects and services.

After closing the natural therapy clinic in Darlington, Victoria and her team took their services to offer more support in mental health hospitals as well as preventative approaches in the work place. Whilst continuing to offer public group sessions and nature based one to one sessions in coping techniques and strategies for better health and wellbeing.

In 2020 with the impact of Covid 19 many of these services were stopped and Victoria began to home educate her son whilst also studying the neurology of learning and approaches to healthy education. She also began her training in Wilderness Therapeutic Interventions, a trauma informed practice which combines psychotherapeutic approaches with outdoor education and nature connection principles. A service for schools, care settings and alternative education models. Her son returned to school in September 2024 and now Victoria along with a dedicated team of therapists and educators have developed Connected In Nature CIC, supporting individuals and communities to connect more deeply to themselves, one another and the natural world.

Dedicated to personal and professional practice, all insurances and qualifications are kept up to date including; outdoor first aid and safeguarding. Specific training in nature connection, neurodiversity and ACEs is continually being developed further.

Now weaving all of these modalities together Victoria is able to adapt her approach to suit the needs of the individuals she is working with. Offering an inclusive and supportive environment rooted in the power of nature connection.
